For people in positions of power, to have a slogan like this is ridiculous.
Acknowledging a mistake creates trust and connection, allowing the opportunity to move on in the chosen direction.
There is a limit though, as you don’t want to spend too much time thinking about mistakes of the past, thereby tainting the present. What is done is done and you cannot change the past but you can make the path of the future more wonderful.
Explain why, rather than what. This will open greater opportunities to get things right next time.
It is best to acknowledge the mistake, and the result, of how that made the other person feel or how your mistake made you feel. If done well, apologies will conciliate the situation.
Even if you were the only person involved, we all make mistakes and acknowledging them, taking time to notice how the mistake made you feel is a very powerful way of, settling the mind and getting it right next time.
Allowing you to deal with it and get past the mistake, and correct, rather than burying it.
Apologising well and explaining why will pacify the minds.
