Cause it is really quite stuck.
New opportunities, new processes, new information are available with perseverance. It takes perseverance to get unstuck or to remove a stick from the mud.
In Taiji when sinking, really sink, as if trying to pull a stick out of the mud.
Your upper body drops down onto the lower body, and your lower body drops into your feet, and as you sink your feet press into the ground, spiraling.
And to move, you have to move one foot at a time, not just mindfully knowing you are in the mud, but your mind is in the foot you are moving. You hear the suction you feel your foot.
But the frustration of progress is real and fortunately, great teachers, masters, practitioners, players, artists, protagonists, professors, they have made the old-fashioned ideas innovative and modern. So thereby allowing us to explore for ourselves, proven ideas and exciting methods, and specific exercises, and ways to practice and train the body.
So with effort, we are not sticks in the mud.
