And this can be applied to most activities. Gardening, cooking, surfing, walking, smiling whatever it is if it is done with the breath it brings you back to the now
Working with the breath makes life safer, energising, and calming at the same time. Simply by watching the breath. Connects us more to the body and mind. This common bridge that connects all life with all life, connects us with each other, and connects us to ourselves.
It is easy to get caught up with our thoughts and desires, with where we think we need to be, it is easy to think of wanting to better. But it is those thoughts of questioning we are not enough are the problem.
Society seems to constantly dangle the carrot and hit us with the stick simultaneously. But it is a never-ending race, a tap of desires that is continuously dripping, and the more attention you give it the more chance that it gushes out of control.
So, breathe in, fill the chest, pause.
Then breath out, the belly comes in and up, pause.
And repeat with a smile, extending the pauses.
And one more with the eyes closed.
