As a person who practices tai chi you may have the ability to be a good listener. Not just to others and the
outside. But also listening within the body. And as the body moves there is an opportunity to listen to
what is going on in the hips and the big thigh muscles. Even the more subtle listening to the chest and
face. And with gross movements the subtle listening can be easier, to perceive.
A friend of mine showed me how the top of her shoe would light up when she stomped the shoe. With
two velcro straps the electric bling would light up. When she would stomp and then push off that
stomped foot so the other foot was in the air. So then she could give the balcony a good stump with the
lifted foot.
This took me to the first exercise of the warmup exercises you. As you sink into the foot to lift the other
foot, release the arms. Then push off that foot then take the mind to the top of the head before
exaggerating the movement of exercise 1; the sinking in the newly stomped foot as you spiral down.
