The painted ocean.

Broad strokes create different general tones to the surface. Colours from the clouds, the wind, various depths of the water, the type of water combined with the sunlight create the different colours we see on this mysterious body of water. Whether we notice it or not these changes on the surface are happening.

Then when we swim in said ocean a different more intimate awareness arises we are enveloped by the body of water. Like the breath, when we place our attention on the ocean, things become more dynamic.

Then when you are using swimming goggles in that body of water we are, so intimately connected. Like the ocean when we take time to place our attention in the breath it becomes more intimate.

Then when we use our breath and body and mind in that ocean we can swim down below the surface, to be intimate with another world. It seems the unique familiarity is rather infinite. This is very lovely, timeless ageless embodying fear and trust in that moment.

Like the breath when we take time to practice and formally connect to the inhalation and the exhalation and the lengthened pauses in between we gain intimacy with a dynamic connection. When we carefully approach techniques and dive deep there is a visceral connection to the body breath and movement through pranayama where details that naturally come to you like tropical fish when we are comfortable in that old new world.

So if we take 3 or 12 breaths, allow the ocean to be our guru.

And what do you want to look at?

the broad strokes of a painted ocean? where we sit and ride the breath for 3 breaths of 4 seconds per inhalation and exhalation, eyes closed, be with breath.3 breaths 4 seconds .

Tadaa well done., and

or shall we be with a little more detail?

shall we swim down?

eyes closed, be with breath.

breath/swim along for 4 breaths inhalation and exhalation 4 seconds each

breath/dive 4 breaths inhalation and exhalation 4 seconds each with 3 second retentions

breath/swim along for 4 breaths inhalation and exhalation 4 seconds each,

Tadaa well done.
